Born in an Army Officer’s family at Dehradun and then having attained Masters Degree in Hospitality from prestigious Oberoi School of Hotel Management in the year 1975, Chef OP Khantwal has patronized IHMS since its inception.

His experience of nearly half a century has milestones in brands like The Oberoi, The Hilton, The Sheraton and ITC Welcome Group. An avid planner, his tenure with ITC Fortune hotels brought him the responsibility of being the Corporate Chef, and that of establishing Fortune Operating & Project Hotels.

He has introduced the concept of Novel Cuisine with the launch of hot cake restaurants viz. Fortune Deli, Nakshatra, The Oriental Pavillion and Nostradamus. In October 2009, he was bestowed with the prestigious “Golden Hat Award” at the sixth edition of Annual Chef Awards hosted by Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) in association with PHD Chamber & IFCA. He was also awarded the trophy for personal contribution in the field of Culinary and got international recognition among professional in the same year during IFCA – 4th national Culinary Congress.

He has received “Life Time Achievement Award” by Govt. Of Andhra Pradesh and “Golden Hat Award” from SICA, Chennai. He was the Founder President of South Asia Culinary Association, Regional Director of IFCA.
